Capital of Mie - The City of Tsu

Tsu is a big town... well, much bigger than Owase and it has some of the bigger supermarkets and shopping centers. It's just beside the sea and thus, you wil have a great view from your hotel room like what the Tan Tans had below;

If you spot the red and orange logo, that's SATY and it was where Mr Tan Tan hung out for the past 2 days (a walk of 20-25mins from the hotel). It was a cool place and they had almost anything and everything under one roof. (and it is much larger that our COURTS + GIANT in Tampines added together). Just beside it is Warner Bro Cinema but the ticket prices range from 1000Yen (SGD$12.80) to 1300Yen, depending on the show.

Anyway, over at SATY Mr Tan Tan saw some cute stuff, such as the all-time favourite "POKEMON - PIKACHU".

The Tan Tans also had a serving of McFlurry Blueberry Oreo and guess what the packaging was like? (**Hint - One of Mrs Tan Tan friend currently residing in US loves it)

HELLO KITTY !!! *what else you expect from Japan??? hee hee

Anyway, what Mr Tan Tan found facinating in Tsu was that other than the Shinto shrines that are highly popular in Japan, there is quite a no. of shrines that worship the Goddess of Mercy. (the photo on the left is a Shinto shrine and the one on the right is a temple that worships the Goddess of Mercy, both within walking distance from each other)

But I would say that the BEST find in Tsu was the UNAGI!! We had one of the best UNAGIS we ever tested!!! Fresh charcoal grill unagi with a homemade sauce and one of the most traditional ones around. Its on the West gate once exit from Tsu JR station and you will never miss it as it is just across the road. (I do have to apologise that the photo was not taken when it was just served as it was so tempting that the Tan Tans forgot all about snapping).

Anyway, this is about all I could discover in Tsu during the short 2 days trip there, as a result of Mrs Tan Tan's orientation.
